Itinerary for September 17, 2016

Thousand Islands Adventure

Your September 15, 2019 Itinerary

Departure Information:

For this trip we have 2 departure locations and time: Ottawa University and Carleton University

For Ottawa U:

7.20 am  Meet us at 90 University Private, by the residence building. We will gather by the entrance closest to the parking lot. Here you will have a chance to gather and get to know your fellow travellers before we set out.

The bus departs at 7.30 am sharp. Because we have a second location pickup we will not know if you haven't made it or are going to use the Carleton Univ pick up.

Don’t be late, we will not be able to wait for you and we do not want you to miss this awesome trip.

For Carleton University:

7.45 am  Meet us at Leeds House Residence. We will gather by the entrance. Here you will have a chance to gather and get to know your fellow travellers before we set out.

The bus departs at 8 am sharp. Don’t be late, we will not be able to wait for you and we do not want you to miss this awesome trip.

9.45 AM In this trip we will be visiting 3 different areas of the 1000 Islands and St Lawrence river region. Our first stop will be at an important UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Here we will go on a hike where beautiful views of the St Lawrence river and the Adirondack mountains in New York await.  The hiking trail is fairly flat however you will encounter short ascends (and their corresponding descends). It should take around 1.5 h to finish at a slow pace, taking photos and doing frequent stops.

We highly recommended you to wear shoes with good traction and ideally water proof such as hiking boots or hiking shoes. Remember that you will be in the forest and navigating through natural environments.

12.20 PM At this time we will have finished our hike and proceed to board our bus and go to Rockport,  a small town on the shores of the St Lawrence. Here we will have lunch and get our Boat Cruise experience.

2.00 PM Board the boat to start the tour of the thousand islands region. The views are breathtaking, and the architectural marvels that have been constructed on the islands are a sight to be seen. In this region the boundary between the US and Canada is blurry. There are American and Canadian islands and then there are islands that belong to both countries.

3.00 PM Get on the bus again and let's head to the final destination of the day: Brockville, deemed The City of The Thousand Islands.

5 PM After our visit to Brockville we will go back to Ottawa.  Sit back and relax after a day full of activities and fun.

We should be arriving around 6 PM
