PREPARING FOR THE TRIP.
What to do before you come to Boston:

Exchange Money. You are going to need US dollars.

If you are not Canadian AND you are an exchange or international student staying in Canada less than 6 months you might be asked by Canadian border authorities to prove your status in Canada. Bring copies of the following documents: Letter of acceptance of the University, Student Card, details of the return flight to your home country.

NOT CANADIAN? Are you from a VISA WAIVER PROGRAM Country or have a visa? Have you NOT been to the US in the past 3 months? You should get your I-94 entry permit online. By doing this online you will speed up the border crossing process and it will be less stressful for you. Use the following link: US Border and Customs I-94 Website

It is important to stay in touch while traveling; especially if there are any last minute changes to be announced by your guides (like bus pickup addresses), you become separated from the group or are going to be late for a rendezvous.
This what's app group will also be good for anyone in the trip to share photos, let others know of cool spots you've come across while exploring, restaurants recommendations and pretty much anything we want.

DRIVER'S TIP
It is customary to give a little something to the driver for his good service as a token of appreciation. This is totally OPTIONAL. We propose to give $5 at the end of the trip.

Your Itinerary
DAY 1
6.45 am Meet us at 90 University Private, Ottawa, K1N 6N5. This is a residence building on the University of Ottawa campus [See our map below]. The Ottawa Residences Building is right in front of a big parking lot where our bus will pick us up. Here you will have a chance to gather and get to know your fellow travellers before we set out.
7.00 am The bus departs at 7.00 am. Make sure you are at the departure location on time, we will not be able to wait for you and we do not want you to miss this awesome trip.
We will cross the American Border. For a smooth transition you must have with you the appropriate travel document(s): Valid passport, Visas (if required) and $6 US dollars cash -if needed. For those travelling under the Visa Waiver Program or Visa and if you haven't been to the US in the past 3 months you will get the I-94 W non migrant form to be filled out. This form will be given to the US immigration officers together with your passport.
You should expect to get off the bus and go through the border crossing process where the authorities will review your travel documents. After being admitted to the US, we'll get back on the bus and continue the journey.
We will make one more stop after customs to get food, stretch our legs and use the restrooms.
4 pm Arrive to our hotel, check in and get ready to start the adventure in Downtown Boston. You have about 20 min to freshen up and meet at the lobby of the hotel. We'll be dropped off at the Boston Common Park.
[Optional] We will start with an orientation walk of the north western section of Downtown Boston which will give you a taste of the city. This walk will take you to places like Trinity Church, Boston Public Library, Massachusetts State House, Acorn Street and much more.
We will make recommendations as to where to eat. One suggestion is to meet at Harvard Gardens for food and drinks (316 Cambridge St. Boston MA 02114. 1-617-523-2)
At around 10 pm we will meet at the Charles MGH Station by Longfellow bridge. We will catch public transportation back to the hotel. We will use the red line and get off at JFK Subway Station.
Our hotel provides free shuttles from JFK Subway Station from 7am – 11pm. Call hotel for service after 11pm.
The shuttle leaves every 30 minutes at the top and half past the hour. First come, first serve basis.
DAY 2
Today we will visit Harvard University, MIT and Downtown Boston.
9.30 am Meet at the lobby to board the bus to go to Harvard University. We will go to Cambridge and be dropped off right on Campus. Experience a walk around Harvard University and discover many of the landmarks of this Ivy League University.
After about 1h we will board the bus and head to MIT, another great University. After exploring MIT's campus we will board the bus once again and head to downtown Boston.
[Optional] We will start a group walk of Downtown Boston and check out the many amazing historical landmarks that make this city so great and interesting.
Let's check out war ships, obelisks, churches, the harbor, food markets, cobble stoned streets and so much more!
Note: If you want to visit the USS Constitution war ship you must bring your passport.
At any point in time feel free to do your own thing and explore this fantastic city.
10.30 pm Our bus will be waiting for you at The Boston Common to go back to the hotel.
You do not need to wait for the bus if you want to get back to the hotel earlier (or later) than the arranged times. You are welcome to get back on your own.
DAY 3
Today is our last day in Boston and we will be dropped off downtown for some free time.
9.15 am Meet at the lobby of our hotel with all bags ready to check out of our hotel. After checking out, put your belongings in the bus and board. We will go to downtown Boston.
1:45 PM Meet at pre-arranged spot and board the bus to go back to Ottawa
Arrive at 90 university private around 11 PM.
