CANADA in the WILD
Itinerary for September 17, 2016
Thank you for your interest in this trip.
Meet us at 7 AM at 90 University Private, Ottawa, K1N 6N5. This is a residence building on the University of Ottawa campus [See our map below]. The Ottawa Residences Building is right in front of a big parking lot where our bus will pick us up. Here you will have a chance to gather and get to know your fellow travellers before we set out.
The bus departs early in the morning. Make sure you are at the departure location on time, we will not be able to wait for you and we do not want you to miss this awesome trip.
We will cross the American Border. For a smooth transition you must have with you the appropriate travel document(s): passport, Visa and $6 US dollars cash (if you are from a visa waiver country or have a visa AND you haven't crossed the border in the previous 3 months). You should expect to get off the bus and go through the border crossing process where the authorities will review your travel documents and personal belongings.
After being admitted to the US, get back on the bus, relax and continue the journey.
4.00pm In the afternoon we'll arrive to our hotel, Ramada Boston (or similar), and check in.
4.30pm Board the bus again and let's start the adventure by going to downtown Boston!
We'll be dropped off at the Boston Common. This is a beautiful park right in the middle of the city. We will use public transportation to get back to our hotel later that night.
[Optional] Join our orientation walk. It will take you to places such as Massachusetts State House, Trinity Church, Boston Public Library and more. We will end the walk at a local pub/ restaurant to have some food and drinks.
At around 10 pm we will meet at Charles/ MGH subway station to take the subway back and head back to our hotel.
Start the day by visiting Harvard University. We will go through this amazing campus and visit many of the iconic buildings and landmarks. Later we will board the bus and head to MIT, another big name university, famous for its engineering programs .
We will board the bus and be taken to Boston Common Park again. We will roam around the park and have time to take photos. Then we will start what's know as 'The Liberty Trail'. This is an [optional] walking tour in the downtown core of Boston that touches important landmarks that had to do with the American independence war. After the walk is over you will have some free time to explore on your own.
[Optional] Meet up for food/drinks tonight.
11pm Our bus will pick us up from Boston Common and take us to the hotel. Want to stay longer? Go ahead! you know how to get back to the hotel by now.
Attractions in Boston
Today is an exciting day. We will go to the St Patrick's parade in downtown Boston.
We will check out of our hotel in the morning, put our bags in the hotel and go straight downtown for one of the most amazing St Patrick's day celebrations in North America.
2pm Meet up at the rendezvous to go back to Ottawa
